Bubbles

Drew loves bubbles! It is amusing to me how such a simple thing can be so much fun. Drew got a bubble gun for Easter. You dip the top of the gun in a tray of soap and a little fan will blow when you pull the trigger making bubbles. Its perfect for his little fingers. We went outside to try it out and he was so excited. His face just lit up it was the sweetest thing, I love to see the excitement and wonder in kids eyes. I wish you all could of heard his gasps and giggles maybe next time I will pull out the video camera instead of the camera.

Easter

Easter was a big day for us. Its starts in the morning with Easter Baskets from the Easter Bunny. Then the bunny hides eggs in our backyard and the kids go and find them (it was freezing). Then Justins sister has a big Egg Hunt and breakfast at her house (the kids always love going to Jonis). Then we came home and Justin had to go and teach at church. Drew and Paige have both had coughs and runny noses so I kept them with me and Justin took the girls to church. Then we met at justins parents for a always yummy late lunch. Then we went back over to Sequoia to show some family some 4 wheelers. Then we finally got to go home and relax. So I chose some random pictures to show our crazy but fun day.

4-wheelers

We had a busy weekend. Justin worked at Sequoia Saturday (for those of you who dont know Justin and his friend Brent opened a motor sports store) and he told me to bring the kids over so they could ride 4 wheelers. They had rode a couple of weeks earlier and Morgan had been asking everyday since if we could go over there. So the girls got to ride (they have kids size 4wheelers that they can drive themselves,), Drew got a couple of rides but he mainly just likes to climb on and off of everything he can. Paige slept most of the time which made it easier to keep track of Drew. The kids had a blast I know that they will want to go over whenever they can.

Mim

Our cat, we have had Mim for years. The funny thing about Mim is that he knows when you are feeling down. I remember many times when I or my kids have been sick and Mim was always right there. He spent so much time on my bed when I was pregnant with Paige, I remember him following Morgan around when she had the flu. The last time Drew had the flu he would not leave him alone. I remember thinking whats up with the cat hes wanting a lot of attention then I realized that it had been us that he had giving attention to. Thursday after my grandpas funeral my kids and I were all hanging out in my room and Mim came in and was bothering all of us. I took this picture thinking it was funny and that Mim just wanted to watch T.V. with us. I thought it would be a funny post but when I loaded it and looked at the picture I realized that Mim new that we had a sad day and was there to comfort us. I know how crazy this sounds and I am not some cat freak but if you live with Mim you know that hes always in your face when you feel like junk. Until now I thought it was mainly sickness but it seems that he can also sence sadness. So yes, I know, what a nut, Natalie really is a loon, I'd just like to say be kind to your furry friends and leave it there.

Facing Front

As you all know Paige turned 1 on Sat which means she can face forward in the car now. We bought her a car seat and used it for the first time on sat. Its one of those great steps for mothers like when they can finally hold their own bottle. Some of my other favorites are no more formula, no more diapers, no more diaper bag, and no car seat at all. I think that Paige thought she was pretty cool too, because when I looked back to take her picture she let out this little giggle like she new what a big deal it was and she was excited. I cant beleive how fast shes growing. All these things are all so exciting and its so neat to watch her grow but I know that one day I'll look back and wonder where my sweet baby has gone. I will cherish every step she takes and enjoy the moments why we have them. Even the emptied drawers and the shredded paper.

My Grandpa

My sweet Grandpa Barney passed away tonight. He had been sick in the hospital for a few weeks and we knew his time was near. So after our fun day with Paige we went to the hosptial to give him our love and to say goodbye. I am so glad that my family was able to see him
because just hours after we left the hospital so did he. These past few days with him in the hospital have been a little strange for me. I tried to keep a logical and positive outlook, one- to think that he could get better, go home, and live a few more years, and two- if this was his time to go I knew that he would be at peace and be done with his suffering. Either way I felt that I could handle whatever hand we were delt and that I would be just fine. As much as I thought I was prepared to hear the news that he was actually gone, the words still left me broken hearted and full of tears. I am lucky, I have had a grandpa for 31 years. I know alot of people who don't have grandparents and I am very blessed to have had one for so long. I also have lots of memories to keep with me, I know that my 2 older girls have memories to take with them as well. My 2 younger kids may not remember him but I am so greatful that I have pictures of him with all my kids. When they get older and see him in their scrapbooks I can tell them that they are sitting on there great grandpas lap and that he loved them dearly. My grandpa loved babies he was always able to get my kids to coo and talk to him. He always said "Tell Grandpa a story" they would look at him and just bable. My Grandpa used to count my ribs. He would say "We need to count your ribs" So i would go sit on his lap he would lift my arm start at the bottom and count up. I usually had only 6 or 7 ribs but every number was a silly anticipation because I knew how bad counting ribs tickled. I got to see him count all my kids ribs its a silly memory but I will always treasure it. He was also a great story teller and he had lots of stories to tell. I loved to hear his stories about when he worked for the phone company and about the war. He had lots of grandkids and great grandkids and he loved us all. Most of all he loved my grandma who died over 10 years ago. I am happy for you grandpa, I am happy becausethat you are not hurting anymore, I am happy because I know that you are finally at peace. I am sad because I will miss you dearly, I am sad because I will have to drive past your house that I have gone to for so many years and know that you are not there, I am sad because I wont be able to see you count my kids ribs or to get a scratchy kiss from you because your facial hair was so rough. I am blessed to have had you in my life for as long as I did, I am blessed to be a part of you, I am blessed that I have so many memories to choose from when I need them, I am blessed to have the gospel in my life and to know that this is not the end for us. I love you grandpa, I will miss you, go and be happy. Love, Nat

We had a great time at Paiges Party. I dont think that she quite understood what was happening but it was fun. Most of my fellow bloggers were there for those of you who could'nt make it I posted some of my favorite pictures from the party. Happy Birthday Paige!

Here are some random shots of Paige. Silly curlers make silly hair. Paige at Tahoe 4th of July

Paige at 7 months (picture taken by her aunt Leslie)

Paiges Halloween costume, she was a witch.

My little Paige has been such a blessing in our lives. This is one little girl who new she was supposed to be in our family. Every step with Paige has been a miracle and we now have the sweetest little girl. She has been so much fun, her little spirit has brought so much happiness into our family. Its so much fun to see her little personality as she grows. She is so cute, and so silly, she likes to tease, and play, and make messes. She loves her family, adores her daddy, loves to play and giggle with Drew. When the girls get home from school she goes to see them and makes a fuss if they dont pick her up. She is very cuddly and she gives her whole family hugs everyday. We love Paige so much I cant imagine life without her. She makes our family whole, Happy Birthday Sweetie, We love you!!

Book Share

I know I already posted today but Haylie has a book share project due tomorrow. Part of her requirements was to dress up like a character in her book, act out a scene, make a book cover, make an advertisement poster or to do a diorama. We decided to do a diorama. Her book is called the Phantom Stallion and I told Haylie to pick a part of her book that she thought was interesting and would make others interested in reading it. She told me about this part where the girl and her horse had to swim in shark infested waters, and this is what we came up with. I know its simple but we did it in 2 hrs with babies crying, hanging on our legs, and with a diaper change or two. Anyways I was really excited about it and thought it was pretty silly. So do you think she'll get a good grade or did I just ruin her?

This is just a slight angle change but I thought I'd throw it in.

Tub-Time Paige

Paige loves her baths. Of course everyone has the shampoo/mohawk picture and this is Paiges. She was really wiggly so its a messy one but I think she pulls it off really well.

More Paige

In honor of Paiges birthday this week I decided that I would post some pictures of her. This picture is Paiges impression of the Wolverine. For the longest time we could not get a picture of her smiling so this is the look she has in most of her pictures.

Jazz vs Nuggets

We went to the Jazz game with the Mosers on Saturday. I am not a big basketball watcher but I had a really good time, it was tons of fun. We had great seats and it was fun to see how really tall these guys are. The other cool thing is that they won, not just won but they kicked the nuggets trash. Go Jazz!!

Circus Circus Fun Dome

These are the older kids who had no clown incounters. From left to right is Morgan, Katie (my sister), Sam (Katies best friend), and Haylie. It was a fun trip cant wait until the next one.

Evil Clowns

Last night I was looking through my pictures and noticed this one from a trip we took to Vegas in January. We took the kids to the amusement park in Circus Circus. The older kids got to go on the fun rides while Drew got stuck on the put the quarter in and it goes for 1 minute rides. He likes these rides being only 2 of course, so he had a good time. This picture sticks out to me because Drew looks so peaceful like hes having such a good time and I look at he picture and all I can think is RUN DREW, RUN!! THERE IS A CREEPY CLOWN BEHIND YOU AND ITS ABOUT TO COME ALIVE AND EAT YOU!! I know I'm a freak, but I am pretty sure when some of you look at this picture you will get the same feeling.

A village to Pillage

I am posting this at Morgans request. She wanted me to take a picture and put it on my blog. When she walked in my room to show me she said "A Village to Pillage" Dont ask where that came from because I dont know. I guess the Spider is to take over the village. I dont know why she called the spider spencer either, its just the mind Morgan I guess.

Morgan

Morgan wanted a blue bike. Let me tell you what a chore it is to find a blue girl bike, but we did it and she loves it.

Haylie

The girls got new bikes for Christmas and the other day they finally got to ride them. The last few winters it seemed like it would snow then melt before it snowed again so you would be able to go out and ride if you wanted to. Not this winter the snow has just been piling up but 3 months of waiting they finally got to ride and have been every chance they get.

1st shoes

I went to the mall today with Paige and Drew. I was not setting out to buy shoes but I walked past them and was curious to see what size Paige was. I tried on 3 different pairs and Paige just sortof looked at them not really caring. Then I tried these ones on her she looked at them and started reaching for her feet. Then when I took them off she screamed. I gave her a different pair and she pushed them away. When I showed her these ones again she reached for them. I did end up buying the shoes and she looks so cute in them. I put them on her in the store and she played with them and kicked her feet for like 20 minutes afterward. I thought this was so funny because I remember a similar story that Yolanda and Emery had with a pair of boots, then my brother Tavis told me that his daughter Mia did the same thing. Shoes, I think its a girl thing.

Laundry

I dont have any new pictures but I took this last month and thought it was really funny. This is Morgan playing with Drew and Paige. I dont know where she comes up with this stuff but I had my camera close by and had to take it. Kids are silly I cant wait until they are a little older to see what they do to Morgan.

The Historian

I finished the book. It was very good. If you like history I recommend it , if not I warn you that there is alot of it. There is a good story and it is very clever how its done, but its intertwined with alot of historical facts. Anyways I liked it.

The Historian

To any of my friends who are readers and to any of those friends who have a interest in Vampires read The Historian By Elizabeth Kostova. I am only half way through it but it is so far excellent. My home teacher let me borrow it and said that if I liked the twilight series that I would probally be interested in this book. He was right, so far a great read. I will not tell you the ending when I get to it, but I will let you know if I enjoyed the second half.
