Blog worthy

I've been a super blogging slacker but we had an incident in our house that I felt was blog worthy and had to post it. This is my beautiful Paige. Last night Paige and Drew decided that Paige needed a haircut. I am still not exactly sure how it happened but I'll try to explain. Drew was sitting at my kitchen table doing home work. Paige always joins Drew when he is doing homework. She will color or do her own but she always sits with him. This homework required scissors (child scissors), normally that is not a problem. My kids had been hyper all day and they were goofing off while doing homework. I was in the kitchen making dinner and after a bunch of "settle down" "relax" "do you homework" "knock it off" 's he finished. I knew they had scissors and I knew they were goofing off but he had papers to cut. I never thought for a second that their goofing off involved cutting hair. After he left the table he took the scissors into my room. When he walked out I saw that he had them and immediately took care of the problem, or so I thought. I said "give me those, you don't run with scissors" (being the safety mom that I am:)) took them from him and continued to fix dinner. All of that happened in less than 5 min. So then we go to set the table and notice hair all over the floor right by where they were doing homework (none in my room). From what I gathered they were both involved in the actual cutting and it happened right by where I was. I still have no idea how I missed it but I did. After a lot of yelling, crying, and grounding, I took some pictures.

This is a before shot.

This is the saddest shot ever

This is while it was being fixed

And this is the finished product. So cute. It could of been so much worse.

Drews Preschool Graduation

My Drew is officially done with Preschool and will start kindergarten in the fall. To say he is excited (I think more to ride the bus than anything) is a huge understatement. I answer kindergarten questions all day and as excited I am about summer I'm not excited to hear "Is kindergarten tomorrow" for another 3 months:)

This is Drew doing his part in the graduation ceremony. What a super kid, don't ya think?

Spring Choir Concert

Haylie is in choir this semester and as part of her grade she has to participate in a choir concert. She wrote it on my calendar back in January and has been excited for it and reminding me of it for 4 months. The day finally came. This is Haylie being dropped off 2 hrs early to prepare or something?:)

I don't know who this silly girl is in front of Haylie but she made a face on purpose when I took the photo and I thought it was funny:) Haylie's grandma curled her hair she looked very pretty.

Can U spot my cute Haylie? The concert was spring themed all except for when the sang Popular from Wicked (which seemed to be all the girls favorite) The concert was a success and Haylie did a great job.

Race Weekend

We decided to take the kids with us for the weekend. When the parents were up running the kids were sleeping. When us tired parents would of loved to just rest the kids wanted to play. We ended up at the Family Fun Center in St George. Tired Parents.

OK Paige was tired too, she hates the Family Fun Center. She was the only kid that was not big enough to go on the go-karts and that ruined her day.

Speed Haylie racing away.

The water boats were a blast, everyone ended up soaked. Paige got to ride these I thought she would love them but she cried the entire time.

Morgan and Kelsey cruising' along

Thumbs up from Drew and dad, of course little Drew was in heaven riding these cars.
So the morning we were leaving the kids all wanted to go to the park. It was just a block down from where we were staying. The big kids had already spent time there but the little kids wanted a turn.

Justin and Brent joined in on a serious game of tag. They were more tired from playing tag than they were from the race.

Morgan and Brent climbed trees.

They made a fabulous pyramid

Then before we left we had a picture taken with all of us and I cant remember the last time that happened. The last family picture we had was before Drew was born. I need to get them done soon. It was a fun weekend and a fun mini vacation for all. Next time, Adults only:)

Hurricane 5k and1/2 marathon

On April 24th we went to Hurricane to participate in our last runners series race. Justin and I did the 5k and Victor, Brent, and Yolanda did the 1/2 marathon. Justin took 2nd place in his age division (35-40) :) so he was the only one of us that got a medal. I personally just did not want to come in last:) and I was not last so it turned out to be a great morning. After the 5k Justin and I went and picked up all the kids so they could watch the 1/2 marathoners come in. While we were waiting I got this cute picture of Justin with Paige and Drew.

Then Justin made me get my picture taken with the kids.
Victor the speed racer had finished by the time we got back with all the kids. He had another great race and had just ran a different 1/2 marathon the week before.

Yolanda did an excellent job. I had just turned away from the finish line and she ran in. I missed the finish line shot but this is a 1 min after the finish line shot.

Then Brent came in and had also done a great job. Now we are all done with our runners series requirements and are set to do the St George Marathon, stay tuned, we'll see how it goes:)

Spring Break

My cute family went on a trip for spring break. It had been a long time since we have been on a trip as a family so we were very excited but not sure where to go. We wanted to go somewhere not to far and not to expensive. We thought of Disneyland or San Diego and decided we did not want to spend 2 days of our trip driving. Then we thought we could go to Las Vegas to visit grandparents but there are not a lot activities for family's in Vegas. We decided on Moab which was funny because it was just a last minute thought. We took the girls to Moab years ago and had a great time and felt that it would be fun for all the kids even with the age differences. We had a great time even though we were not able to hike as much as we liked. I brought pants, long sleeve shirts, and jackets but silly me forgot hats and gloves. It was cold and very windy. I think if we were able to hike and keep moving it would not of been to uncomfortable but the little kids, especially Paige, were just to cold. We did have a few hopeful rays of sunshine but it did not last long. I still got many cute pictures so enjoy:) Drew was making silly poses in every picture I took of him, and Justin...... Grrrr:) I'm not sure what his look is but all I can think is Grrrrr:)

Morgan found a fun little cave.

Haylie is Queen of the sand hill.
Drew "Hey mom, get my picture on this weird tree"

Paige wanted to stop and play in every pile of sand, which is everywhere so Justin let her ride on his shoulders and that helped to keep us moving.

So Silly:)

Lake to Lake

March 6th I ventured out of my comfort zone and joined my friends for a 50 mile relay race. We had 2 teams with 5 members each member taking 2 5ish mile legs. This is a photo of us at the finish line just a few minutes after the winds picked up, the temperature dropped, and it started to rain. We really wanted a finish line picture the wind was blowing so hard and the sand was getting in our eyes so not all of us are looking at the camera but we are all there. I was so tired after the race and so sore for 3 days after but I finished so I am happy. I earned a metal and that's awesome being a girl that has never received a trophy before. My next race is the Hurrican 5k I hope to be in better health and more prepared for that one. Go Thing 1 and Thing 2! We Rule!!

Princess Paige

My sweet little Paige is 3 today. It has only been the past few days that I have begun to realize that Paige is no longer a baby but a little kid with views, opinions, and ideas that are her own:) While the lack of a Binky and diapers is a good thing I am not sure how ready I am to see her advanced into the realm of childhood. Soon Paige will have her own things to do. She will head into to preschool, dance, and other territories where mom is no longer needed. While I have full confidence in Paige's abilities to hold her own I am left a little sad knowing that my baby will only get bigger and more independent. She is one of a kind and adds so much to our family, life would not be the same without her. We love you Paige! Sass, silly, and Spunk we love it all. Happy Birthday Princess Wa Wa!

Some people are so funny!

I happen to be related to some super funny girls, that I admit are a bit more bloggerific than I am but equally scraptastic. They are my sistas and I love them. Today when I noticed how funny they were it totally made my day. What a lucky girl I am to have some of my best friends actual relatives.

Thanks you for the smiles, the laughs, and the sarcastic remarks:) I know our futures will be full of them.

A peek into our Christmas

Every Christmas Eve our kids get one present that is always PJs, so this is our traditional Christmas Eve PJs picture. I just picked one random snap shot of all my kids so you can see how cute they are.

Haylie and her favorite gift

Morgan and her Rip Stik

Paige in present bliss, not really wanting to stop and look at the camera.

Drew and his back scratcher, yes he asked for one.
