Run for our sons!!

Justin left to California for the PPMD Disneyland 1/2 marathon fundraiser with the older girls 3 hours ago. I felt that Drew would, even though hes doing a lot better, be miserable traveling. Hes not quite better so I stayed home with him and Paige.
It started out as all of us going to run but has not ended up that way. When I first agreed to do the race I thought, ok I will do it but it will be a miracle if I can finish. Then after a few weeks of training I thought well its a long shot but it might be possible. Then after a few more weeks I realized that the pains in my legs were more than just your standard running pains, so I went to the Dr. and had stress fractures in both legs. That put my training to a stop, which after a few glimpses of thinking that it might be possible to race was pretty disappointing. Now with Drew sick I think maybe it has all been a blessing in disguise, and that there were reasons why I shouldn't run this race. Anyways, its all for a great cause and I am happy for everyone who is running. So teamkentz I will be thinking of you and cheering from Utah, Go hunny! Go Yolanda! Go Brent! (stay hydrated)!! Go Victor! Go everyone else on teamkentz! and good luck with all the kids Sandra! I love you all good luck and have an awesome trip! Hopefully I can run with you next time! GO TEAMKENTZ!!!!!

Pros and cons

So as you all know we have moved again. We are living in the 6th residence since our marriage 13 years ago. Our last house was supposed to be our final move, a place to grow roots, well life is full of suprises and so here we are 18 days in house #6. At first I was really bummed about moving I liked our old location, I liked how close we were to the school and church, I loved the pool but even though I did not know which house we were going to I got used to the idea. With Drew being so sick and me needing to stay close to him, I had alot of opportunity to sit and take in my surroundings and I decided that I think I will like it here. There has been no snow yet so I am still in good spirits my thoughts may change in three months but for now I like it. So during my pondering time I have been thinking of the pros and cons between this house and the last and decided to make a list about the tings i like and the things I dont (I love lists). As I said my thoughts my change, but for today Aug 29th, 2008 this is my list...Pros

  • The View, I can see forever
  • Awesome floor plan
  • So much space
  • Room to grow (no I am not having anymore kids but the point is if I wanted to I would have a place to put them)
  • Great kitchen
  • The kids like it
  • bigger master closet
  • bigger laundry room
  • nice garage
  • I can decorate without having to remodel
  • my family hangs out together more
  • it smells new (not for long i'm sure)
  • Deer (that one is for Justin) these are pets not for shooting!
  • friends close by
  • quiet (meaning off the busy road)
  • and most important it feels good here

Cons

  • No Pool!!
  • yard is not finished and no fence so my dog has to be on a chain when he is out side
  • 3 miles further to travel when I leave the house
  • missing closet space (except master closet)
  • my washer and dryer are on the wrong sides
  • SNOW!! I've heard the tales
  • I have to drive to my mail box
  • my cat has already been attacked
  • I don't love my light fixtures
  • my best friend moved north and I moved south (we usually meet in Provo/Orem area anyways so it probably wont change much but it just seems so far)

My mind has gone blank and that is all I can recall for now, sorry for the random post. This is one of those "I've been thinking" moments that no one but you really cares about but you tell them anyway, thanks for you patience.

First Day of school!!!

Morgan was very excited but a little nervous to start school. Excited for a new year but it was a new school and she did not know very many people and that part of it made her nervous. Her friend Eldon is in her class so she was happy about that. What I thought was funny was how excited she was about her school supplies, there are only a few people who know but I love school supplies so it was fun to see that I am not the only one.

Haylie has started junior high school, So far she loves it! They did something cool and had only the 7th graders go on one day so they could try to get around without the older kids in there way. I thought it was a great idea. She made it to all her classes and has some friends in some of her classes so its really fun for her. Drew asks all day where Haylie and morgan went and is a little sad that his buddies are gone but he still has Paige to play with. Good luck girls have a great year!!

We've moved! and some updates

The week of Salem days was such a busy week, we had so much going on but decided that it was time to move. School was going to start in a few weeks and we wanted to be somewhat together before we had to start that routine. With the help of some awesome friends and family we were able to move a bunch of stuff on that wednesday and thursday night. Our ward asked us why we did'nt call them to help us so we told them that monday night we would finish and a bunch of them came over along with our friends and we brought over all of our furniture so that monday night was our first night to sleep at the new house. We have really liked it so far. Justin is in deer heaven,I think its neat to have deer run through our yard and lots of fun for the kids to see but, well lets just say I thought I had to listen to alot about deer before and now...I just dont like being told to climb out of my warm bed at 6 in the morning to look out the window at deer. I'll just leave it at that. The kids have made some friends and Haylie has been to young womens and really likes it. We have not made it to church yet because Paige and Drew got a contagious virus then Drew has been having a severe allergic reaction to his antibiotic. This weekend we have the Disneyland 1/2 marathon and next weekend we have our neices wedding but after that we will be able to meet the ward. So anyways life is still crazy but we are getting more empty boxes everyday, So far so good!!

More Salem Days

My handsome Justin did the Salem Days 5k, the route went right past our house so I decided to go out and take a few pictures as he ran past. He's the guy in the blue shorts. Go Hunny!!!

Baby Contest

I know the picture is a bit blurry but I think its funny. I decided to put Paige in the Salem days Baby contest this year and some how she did not win. I know crazy, this picture is of Paige the day that they announced the winners and she knew she'd been jipped (Just teasing she did not want to be in her stroller). Anyways she did get a free photo taken and a toy that she actually loves so it was not a complete waist. I still think shes the cutest baby that I have ever seen, she has to be because shes also the naughtiest and someone knew that she'd need some protection.

New Puppy?

I promised myself that I would never get another dog, but when I saw this one and noticed that she got along so well with my other dog I knew I had to keep her. She is still a puppy, i am not positive on the breed I think its mainly red neck with a little navajo in there. So far the family has really enjoyed her, I feel really good about it.

Ok, so the other day I heard Paige just laughing, I went to see what was so funny and this is what she was doing. Mojo actually loved it and kept giving her loves, I have been so busy trying to move along with a million other things its nice when kids can entertain themselves.

No longer a hobbit

I love Drews hair long, so we let it grow out inbetween each haircut until it ia absolutly necessary to cut it. My brother J calls him a hobbit when his hair is long because he gets these silly side burns and his hair curls funny. I think he looks handsome but we know that it is time to cut his hair when he starts crying every time we comb it. It gets so snarled in his sleep, for little girls its just part of being a girl but for little boys its just mean to make them go through it.

So this shot is when it is clean, combed, and right out of the tub. Any other time and usually ten minutes later its out of control. But this is before....

And this is my silly man after. Still handsome but easier to maintain.

Dominican Republic

Justin and I recently went on a trip to the Dominican Republic with some friends. I missed the kids terribly but besides a little sea sickness and a few parasites it was a fun and eventful trip. We have tons of pictures but I just picked out some of my favorites to show some of the stuff that we did.

This is the Punta Cana airport. When I first looked out the window of the plane I thought it was funny that the airport roof was made of grass. I found out later that a lot of roofs are made of grass but I still think that it is interesting to see.

This is part of our resort, actually this is the pool that we spent most of our time in. There were pools everywhere but we spent most of our time in this one. This entire pool is 7 or 8 ft deep so since we could not stand in it, all our time we spent in this pool we considered it exercise.

This is also our resort with our pretty beach in the background. While we were there they had a wedding at this gazebo. All the guests had chairs in the sand and the majority of the women we saw were in high heels, I bet they had fun.

This was after our deep sea fishing trip (you can see our fish in the background). Justin, Louisa, and Yolanda spent most of the trip hanging over the side of the boat. I on the other hand have more will power than I thought and was able to keep myself from throwing up. I can say I've been deep sea fishing now, but I have no desire to do it again.

I liked these orange trees, this was at out resort and we had to stop for a quick photo shoot.

This was just over from our resort right before our 4 wheeler excursion. The ride was really fun, even though we broke down, ran out of gas, had the broken down 4 wheeler stolen (we ended up finding it), and broke down again, it was really fun and we got to see a lot of cool things.

Banana spider webs, we never saw a spider but there webs were creepy so I had to take a picture.

This is a town we went through on our 4 wheeler ride, pretty crazy!

This is just a basic house, as we rode through the town all the houses had kids hanging out the doors and sitting on the porches. A bunch of the kids in town ran after us asking for money and our hats. You can never have to many dollar bills.

This is Catalina Island, its like a national park, no one lives on the island but its set up with pavilions, bathrooms, beach chairs, and everything you would need to spend the day. We went snorkeling here then after we went and layed around at the beach and the excursion people made a big lunch.

This was my few when I looked up from my beach chair, pretty cool!

After we went snorkeling we went to this place. I am not sure what it is exactly but they had shops and a huge out door theater. It was beautiful it was like something out of a storybook.

This is at the same place, they told us that they filmed parts of Rambo and King Kong here. I thought it would be a perfect location for Tavises photos, a few thousand miles out of the way but other than that...perfect.

This is the theater.

3 Amigos. Its was a fun trip and a interesting place to vacation. I cant wait to scrap all my pictures.
